Pres. Putin emphasized that a national space station is an economic necessity for Russia
“By 2023 we are going to create our national orbital station in orbit… We will definitely bring this project to fruition, and, no doubt, it will be under our control, said Putin.
In December last year, Oleg Ostapenko, head of Roscosmos space a...
New command structures, satellite defenses outlined
Pentagon, military, and intelligence officials outlined plans on Wednesday for warfare in space and warned China not to attack U.S. satellites in any future conflict.
“The threats are real, they’re technologically advanced and they’re a concern,” said Air Force Lt. Gen. John “Jay” Raymond, commander of the Joint Functional Component Command ...
Why America is considering getting more aggressive in orbit
While the intelligence community has historically continued to embrace the sanctuary school, the U.S. military has shifted its focus over the last few decades to the space control school as its central approach to the space domain.

60 Minutes: The Battle Above
U.S. and China are locked in a high stakes contest over satellites that are critical to national security and everyday life.
One secret project is hiding in plain sight. It's the X-37B space plane, a small, remotely-piloted vehicle that can fly in space for 20 months at a tim...

According to Wikipedia and other sources, the US military budget now exceeds 800 billion dollars, and that doesn't even include interest payment on its debt, which according to this chart i'm looking at is well over 300 billion dollars. This when we're not at war with any serious adversaries. We're spending more on our military than the nex...

China entered the space race late but it's now a force to be reckoned with. In a world exclusive, CNN sits down with three of the country's top astronauts and takes you inside its secretive space program.
Ever since the Cold War-era space race with the United States, Russia has taken immense national pride in its cosmic exploits.
But in recent years that confidence has been challenged by a catalogue of embarrassing setbacks. In April, Russian ground staff lost control of an unmanned cargo spacecraft on a supply mission to the International Space Station.
Last month, another Russian rocket mission, this time carr...

There are two reasons why the New Horizons science team wants to reach Pluto and Charon as soon as possible. The first has to do with Pluto's atmosphere: Since 1989, Pluto has been moving farther from the S...
The signal will come in no earlier than 8:53 p.m. EDT tonight. Mission operations manager Alice Bowma...
